The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Prof. Leo Daniel has joined other critical stakeholders in the education sector to felicitate the Management, Staff and Students of Obong University; one of the privately owned Universities in Akwa Ibom State on the successful hosting of their combined 9th to 13th Convocation Ceremony of the University held today at Ben Jones Auditorium, Obong University, Obong Ntak, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of the State.
The Vice Chancellor in his Goodwill Message presented at the ceremony on behalf of Management Team, Staff and Students of Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) congratulated the Vice Chancellor and the entire Obong University Community on the academic milestone which he said is a proof of dedication and hard work of the staff and students of the University.
The Vice Chancellor who was represented at the event by the Registrar of the University, Offiongita E. Nkang (Mrs) congratulated the graduands and charged them to reflect on the journey that brought them to this momentous occasion. He inspired them to also take pride in the contributions they will make to humanity in their future endeavours.
The University Don while commending the commitment of Obong University to excellence in academia and the strides they have made in advancing
knowledge, innovation and service to the society emphasized that Education is a cornerstone of progress, and Obong University plays a vital role in shaping the future leaders of our Nation and beyond.
A total of Five Hundred and Ninety Five (595) Graduates were conferred with various Bachelor Degrees in different Fields while the Paramount Ruler of Ikot Abasi, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Udo Joe Ntukobom was conferred with an HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE in Divinity (Honoris Causa ) by Obong University in recognition of his contributions to the Institution and humanity.
The Bursar, Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi, Dr Mbobo Erasmus Mbobo along with other FUTIA staff were also present at the Convocation Ceremony.
