The Registrar of the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Akwa Ibom State, Offiongita E. Nkang (Mrs) has tasked Women in corporate governance, Management and Leadership positions in the country to contribute their quota to community, State and national development by building synergies in their work-life engagement.

The FUTIA Registrar made the charge while delivering a paper as one of the Guest Speakers at the just concluded Women in Management & Leadership Conference (WIMLEAD) held at Watbridge Hotels & Suites, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
The event which was organized by the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) had as it central theme: “Empowered to Excel: Redefining Leadership, Growth and Balance for Women in a Changing World”.

In her compelling Paper Presentation on the Sub-theme: “Harmony at Home and Work: Mastering Work-Life Integration.” Mrs. Nkang emphasized the increasing demands on professional women to maintain balance amidst overlapping responsibilities at work and at home(s). She advocated for strategic time management, setting clear boundaries and cultivating support systems that allow women to thrive in both domains.
According to her, the concept of Work-life integration is not about perfect balance, but about women making intentional choices that aligns with their values and work-life ethics.
Drawing affirmations from participants, Offiongita who is a registered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) also highlighted the role of institutions in fostering enabling environments that support the wellness and productivity of employees both (males and females) as they strive to deliver expectations at home and in their workplace (s).

The Conference, which drew women leaders and professionals from various sectors, focused on Redefining Leadership, Growth and Balance for Women in a Changing World.
Participants commended Mrs. Nkang’s presentation as both inspiring and practical, urging government, institutions, organized private sectors to take proactive steps towards making work-life integration a modeled reality for women in leadership roles.
The FUTIA Registrar was later present with an Award by the President and Chairman of NIM Council, Commodore Abimbola O. Ayuba, rtd,FNIM on behalf of the Institute. The event equally featured panel discussion.
The Conference which started on Monday, 21st ended on Wednesday 23rd July, 2025 was well attended by Women Professionals including Staff of the Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) who are Registered Members of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).
