The Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has pledged to partner the Management and critical stakeholders of the Institution to advance the frontiers of the Institution in the areas of Research and Technology among others.
The pledge was made by the Chairman/Pro – Chancellor of the University, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Emaeyak Ukpong on behalf of the Governing Council on Monday, 29th July, 2024 at the Takeoff Campus of the University at Ikot Abasi when they hosted the University Community to an Inaugural Interactive Session.
Speaking earlier, the Vice – Chancellor of the University, Prof. Leo Daniel on behalf of the Management, Staff, Students and the University Community welcomed the Pro – Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Emaeyak Ukpong and other Members of the Governing Council to the University.
The Vice Chancellor used the occasion to formally congratulate them on their well deserved appointments by the Federal Government, Inauguration and subsequent assumption of offices as Members of the Governing Council.
The University don pledged the Commitment of the Management, Staff, Students and the University Community to collaborate with the Governing Council towards advancing the frontiers of academic excellence and other scholarly aspirations of the Institution.
The Interactive Session featured Inaugural Speeches, Questions and Answers Session as well as tour of facilities on Campus.
Other Members of the Governing Council in attendance includes, Dr Usman Jahun, Engr Hadiza Tukur, Mrs Lucy Tsowa, Hon. Iheanacho Obioma as well as the representatives of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr(Mrs) Adenike M. Olodo.
Members of the University Management also in attendance include, the Registrar, Offiongita Nkang(Mrs), Bursar, Dr Mbobo Erasmus Mbobo, the University Librarian, Prof. Philip Akor as well as Members of the Governing Council elected from the Senate of the Institution including, Dr Okon Etim, Dr Ime Umoren, Dr Colombus Udofot, Engr(Dr) Bassey Bassey Okon
The Interactive Session came to a close with a vote of thanks by the Registrar of the University, Offiongita E. Nkang (Mrs).
