The Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has commended the National Space Research and Development Agency, (NASRDA) for advancing their mandates through research and technology based approaches to national development.

The FUTIA Vice Chancellor, Prof. Leo Daniel who was an Invited Guest made the commendation on behalf of the University as part of his goodwill Message at the Official Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Top Management Retreat of the National Space Research and Development Agency, (NASRDA) holding at the prestigious Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort in Uyo.

Daniel who is a Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics appreciated the Management of NASRDA led by the Director General/Chief Executive, Dr Matthew Adepoju for the invitation to the Retreat and the initiative; stressing that it will enhance the resourcefulness of the Top Management of the Agency for improved national service.
The theme for the retreat is “NASRDA BEYOND THE HORIZON: BUILDING A RESILIENT WORKFORCE FOR THE SPACE ECONOMY AND NATIONAL SECURITY“. The theme underscores the Agency’s commitment to advancing space Science and Technology for the benefit of the country.
The retreat equally aims to strategize on enhancing the capabilities of their workforce to meet the evolving demands of space economy and to bolster national security.
The significant of the event in Uyo is part of the Agency’s broader strategy to engage and inform Nigerians, particularly the esteemed citizens of Akwa Ibom State about the immense benefits and strategic roles that Space Science and Technology play in human and societal development. In this regard, FUTIA as a technology-base Federal Institution plays critical role and is open to possible areas of collaboration.
