The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Professor Leo Daniel, along with other Management Staff, earlier today received the Leadership of The Nigerian Institute of Building, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, on a Courtesy Visit to the university’s Takeoff Campus.

At the visit, the State Chairman, Bldr. Unyime Esiet, MNIOB on behalf of the Association congratulated the Management Team on their appointments and expressed the confidence that they will inspire leadership in academic scholarship, research and technology.
He commended the Vice Chancellor of the University and Management for the smooth takeoff of the Institution and pledged their Association’s corporate partnership in the areas of human and material resources development, quality control advisory for ongoing infrastructural development, and professional expertise in the Institution’s Building Technology Department. The Association used the occasion to donate related Journals in the Building Industry to the University Library.
Earlier in his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof, Leo Daniel commended the Association for the Visit as well as expressed Management’s appreciation for their commitment to partner with the Institution to grow the resource capital of the recently approved Department of Building Technology in the Institution, over-sighting of ongoing infrastructural development as well as the offering of Industrial Attachment opportunities for prospective students of the Course among other possible frontiers.
The Registrar of the University, Offiongita E. Nkang (Mrs) in her vote of thanks on behalf of the University expressed the appreciation of the Institution to the Professional Association for the visit. She appreciated the donation of copies of the Related Journals as well as their commitment to partner the University in possible areas of mutual concern.
The University Bursar, Dr Mbobo Erasmus Mbobo and the Acting Director of Physical Planning of the University, Arc. Oke Abimbola were also in attendance among others.
